This is exactly what the cross-training day is all about. But what's really behind it and why is it a real advantage for our employees?

The cross-training day gives us the opportunity to get a taste of a different area of the hotel industry. Instead of going about our usual tasks, we immerse ourselves in the world of our colleagues. This is not only a great opportunity to think outside the box, but also a real chance to broaden our horizons. New perspectives bring a breath of fresh air into the office - so cross-training is a real innovative booster! Let's be honest, who wants to do the same thing every day? A bit of variety is not only good for the mind, it also makes work more fun!

Because we don't just focus on work, but also on learning and growing together. With the cross-training day, we want to offer everyone the opportunity to develop further and discover new aspects.

Over the past few weeks, it has been the turn of our reservations and accounting departments to experience a completely different working day than usual. Our colleagues from the reservations department ventured into the colourful world of the sales department. Equipped with coffee, pen and pad, they went in search of new sales tactics. Our number geniuses in Accounting also learnt something new when planning events in Convention Sales.

Our colleagues were enthusiastic - this is clearly reflected in the interviews we conducted following the cross-training day. The exclusive insight into the complex and long-term processes of customer acquisition, an area that otherwise often remains hidden, was particularly appreciated. The cross-training not only opened up new perspectives, but also raised understanding and appreciation for the valuable work of our colleagues to a new level. The positive feedback was great: everyone involved was highly motivated to take part again in future cross-training days - especially in the departments that work so closely and successfully together.

‘Yes, the offices (Convention Sales and Accounting) are relevant for me, as we generally work closely together.’

- Antonia Folster from the reservation department

Were there any tasks or processes that surprised you? If so, what were they?
