On June 1st 2024 it was time again for Northern Germany’s largest corporate and fundraising run, the HafenCity Run. With an incredible number of 17,200 runners from 508 teams, the HafenCity was once again transformed into a vibrant and energetic running track.

With an incredible number of 17,200 runners from 508 teams, the HafenCity was once again transformed into a vibrant and energetic running track.

As every year, the newly designed route led the runners over 4.5 kilometres through central and western HafenCity. This year, participants were able to run along the newly completed Strandkaispitze, across the Elbarkaden and through Magdeburger harbour.
The runners were able to complete the final stretch on the Buenos Aires Quay.

With sunshine and high spirits, the streets were full of runners putting in their best efforts for a good cause. The HafenCity Run is not only a sports highlight, it also supports the charity projects of "Hamburger Abendblatt hilft e.V.", which is primarily involved in projects for children and young people. This year, the numerous participants raised an impressive total of 90,000 euros.

Our Empire Riverside Hotel and our sister hotel, Hotel Hafen Hamburg, were also there this year much enthusiasm!
Our 10 colleagues took part under the group name "Hospitality". Our employees from different departments helped each other along the route and surpassed their limits.
Together, they mastered the run and were cheered on by the spectators at the finish line.

The HafenCity Run has been a firm institution in Hamburg for more than 21 years now. Year after year, the participants look forward to getting to know the HafenCity and its various sides while doing something for a good cause.

We are delighted to have been a part of this fantastic event and are already looking forward to next year, when it will once again be: "Ready, set, go!"
