Sustainability is not just a buzzword for us – in recent years, it has become an integral part of our corporate identity. We are therefore all the more delighted to have once again been awarded the GreenSign Level 4 certificate!

This recertification confirms that we consistently live up to our environmental and social responsibilities and shows our guests that a sustainable stay with us is not only possible, but a reality.

Since 2015, the GreenSign Institute has been helping companies become more environmentally friendly and sustainable.

The certificates provide a platform for transparency that enables companies and hotels to pay particular attention to sustainability. The institute not only considers the use of energy and resources, but also issues such as fair working conditions – for example, in offices or in the catering industry. Certificates can also be awarded in these areas.

The GreenSign Hotel Certificate is the best-known and leading award for sustainable hotels in Europe. It enjoys international recognition by the Global Council for Sustainable Tourism and offers additional value for certified companies.

Step by Step to more sustainability

For us, sustainability also means consistently developing our ideas and related projects. Being open to new things enables us to achieve great things even with small internal measures and give something back to our environment. We want to promote sustainable action not only externally with Green Sign certification, but also within our team.

Water dispensers instead of plastic-based mountains

By switching from plastic bottles to water dispensers, we were able to save 34,368 plastic bottles last year. This figure clearly shows that even small changes can have a big impact when added together.

We are also proud of the upgrade to our building management system, which has enabled us to optimise our consumption and save 45.86 tonnes of CO₂.

Coffeecycle: the devolepment from coffee to soap

Another step forward in our guest journey: the classic bedtime treats in the form of gummy bears have been replaced by recycled soaps. These are not only a lovely souvenir to take home, but are also sustainably produced from our hotels coffee grounds. Combined with olive and coconut oil, this innovation from our start-up partner Coffeecycle invites guests to enjoy a refreshing fragrance.
